One Second
03:26
|
|||
One second, swing yourself around; I wasn't done making sound. All I want is for you to want to listen to me, not just shift your weight around looking for a better place to be. Did I not hit the right note to provoke your ability to stay still, stand and see me unfold me: plane to paper: tree to seed.
One second, break your ego down. Face looking like the sky above this town: pigment fading with each passing hour while the stars beneath your brow are going out. Proving right all of those who said you weren't in control. Gotta lace your boots, tuck your roots, drink some tea and unfold me: plane to paper: tree to seed.
Unfold me: plane to paper: tree to seed.

Swamped to my gunwhales, my bosun brain breaks. Bound to the mast of an old boat in retrograde. Tether my tarnished heart to a task with no stop as i dilute my love 'till the color is--
Those melodies got lost in the brine.
The veering flaw forced me to fake my face and fall away.
Now I know that I loved you once and now I know that I wont love you again. And I'm penitintly passing the time untill I fly my flag at the sea's end.
Those melodies got lost in the brine.
The veering flaw forced me to fake my face and fall away...

Lightning Bugz
02:54
|
|||
One night I dreamt that you and I,
we were made of fireflies:
great big bodyshaped swarms of lightning bugs,
puzzlepieceprone on a mattress;
view from above.
One by one the bugs left their original mass,
migrating to the next.
In the middle of it all, we were nothing but light. Baby,
we were nothing but light.
Every insect switched positions and our bodies returned to their
former form, now built of the other one.
Every insect switched positions and our bodies returned to their
former form, now built of the other one.
So after a bottle of whiskey and a wild week of
worse than worse,
I pushed and puked every pain I'd harbored all over yours.
And I'm sorry baby maybe I was trying to switch bodies again.
Ain't no excuse for it.
Ain't no excuse for it.
But I'm a spoiled little brat who broke his brain in half
before it ever finished figuring out how to function.
So if you gotta go,
go.
But I hope you don't.

got to be the right now
and do you really believe
that you
got the
only
answer to the question
that we
all see
guess you got to be the right now.

OoBaby (Sidewalk Song)

You took me gently downtown, sucking the sound out of every hollowed out bootstep. Toes clenched inside socks adhered to feet that beat the pavement like a drum: a sidewalk song. And I thought that maybe the steady staccato would siphen the sinister out of the room but I was wrong. The mood made its home in the atmosphere and squat in my brain like a bum(bumbum) strung out on self examination.
You say that I could dissappear.
But I love the sound that leaks from your teeth and the way it feels
trickling down my ears.
You make me go you make me go you make me go..........
you make me explode.

Mind Of Mine
05:50
|

How can I help you? Coffee? Cream? Sugar? Sweet sunshine and empathy or do I leave you alone? We both know this instrument needs sympathetic strings but broken wings bring viscious tone. Excuse my teeth they need the light for dissecting the shadows in the night and speeding up the record of the moon. Booze be turbo, fastforward fuel.
Fool was I to belie my own incline to run and hide from this mind of mine.
A mesely mossaic or mass murmuration of memories
making me feel things like feelings.
That eye deep inside heats up so fast that you don't even spy a bubble untill the pots boiling over. Maybe it's cooler when I'm a little more sober but that kettles been cooked overandoverandoverandover.... Don't look at me that way. Don't look at me like that. Do you really think you want it?
Fool was I to belie my own incline to run and hide from this mind of mine.
